Do you hate it when someone asks you…

  • do you have a boyfriend?
  • when are you getting married?
  • are you a lesbian?

Are you sick of…

  • the parentals always trying to give you relationship advice?
  • friends always trying to make fun of your weight?

Scared of ending up alone?

Then “Single Admissions” may be the show for you!

“Single Admissions” is a show about Kat and her two friends Alisha and Peta – three twenty something single girls trying to navigate their way through the mine field of life and relationships.

Together they deal with a range of topics including:

  • Flirting and bad pick up lines.
  • One night stands.
  • Pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
  • Facebook.
  • Ex boyfriends.
  • Online dating.
  • Stalkers.

Will Kat find her Mr. Right or will she forever remain a spinster?

Personally I enjoyed seeing how the actors were able to change characters so quickly and demonstrate a diverse range of perspectives as well as how they were able to use a very limited number of props to create a wide variety of scenes and visual effects, although I thought that the show lacked a unique perspective – there wasn’t anything new or different being offered just a rehash of ideas and concepts that have been covered many times before.

If you’re frustrated with being single, love sexual innuendos, don’t mind a bit of drunken music and dancing and like chick flicks such as Mean Girls and Clueless then you will probably enjoy “Single Admissions”.

“Single Admissions” is presented by Lazy Young and Talented with the Good Room. It’s on at the Holden Street Theatres – The Studio, 34 Holden Street Hindmarsh between now and the 9th of March 2010, for more information refer to the Adelaide Fringe website.
