Adelaide Fringe Review Of “Attack Of The Ginger Ninja” By Phil Denson
Phil Denson is…
- a dude with a crazy set of dreadlocks.
- a comedian.
- a story teller.
- a musician.
- a Vanilla Ice / Will Smith (ala Fresh Prince Of Belair) style rapper.
- a maker of balloon animals.
- an interpretive dancer.
- a self confessed “ginger”.
and…
- a ninja!
Hurt and confused one day Phil wrote a letter to Chuck Norris, the one “ginger” who never gets picked on by anybody! Chuck responded with three pieces of sagely advice… Phil’s show “Attack Of The Ginger Ninja” is based on what Phil has done to apply the pearls of wisdom that were handed down to him by Chuck…

Adelaide Fringe Review Of "Attack Of The Ginger Ninja" By Angela
In his show “Attack Of The Ginger Ninja” Phil talks about his home town Darwin, what it’s like being an outsider and visiting Elizabeth (the town in South Australia), girls, his weird dad, his childhood, youth culture and of course, what it’s like to be a “ginger kid”.
Personally I thought that some of the jokes were kind of lame and the story could have been structured more tightly to fit into the overall theme but otherwise Phil does a good job of working the crowd and mixing comedy with story telling, music and interpretive dance.
If you’ve ever been picked on for being a little bit different, like “Borat” or any type of slap stick style comedy then this show might just be for you.
“Attack Of The Ginger Ninja” is presented by Stand Up Productions. It’s on at the Duke Of York Hotel, 82 Currie Street, Adelaide City between now and the 6th of March 2010, for more information refer to the Adelaide Fringe website.

Saw Phil last night in the Duke. He did his best but I don't think he was very funny, it wasn't stand up comedy to me, the stories and songs were boring and I heard it all before, nothing fresh or renewing. Very disappointing.
On the Fringe site it said that he was from ” A dingo stole my latte”. I went to that show last year which was very funny and he wasn't in there. So beware of the Ginger Ninja: he is not a stand up comedian.
